Kiley Komperund

Naturalist

Kiley grew up in East Troy, Wisconsin. She grew up with extended family interested in fishing, hiking, and mountain biking, while her immediate family spent summers camping throughout Wisconsin. In the past 12 years she has explored many of the National Parks in the United States with her family, as well as visits to Belize, Cayman Islands, Honduras, Mexico, and spent two weeks in Costa Rica studying tropical ecology. All of these experiences have led her to pursue an Environmental Education and Interpretation degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, along with minors in Environmental Studies and Forest Recreation. Kiley is currently working on several school-based projects: an urban forestry management plan for Port Edwards, Wisconsin, a park management plan for undeveloped land in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and designing an interpretive sign for Amherst Park in Amherst, Wisconsin. In her limited free time, she enjoys listening to music, reading, board games, and traveling. Kiley is very excited to be working with us this summer, but she’s most excited to explore Colorado and meet new people.
