Specialty Summer Camps
RegisterWalking Mountains runs a few specialty camps every summer for some of our year-round program participants. These camps in include our Girls in Science Hut Trip for rising 4th-6th graders in our Girls in Science Afterschool program and our Exploremos Weeklong Camp for rising 1st-3rd graders who attend our Exploremos Programs.

The Girls in Science Overnight Hut Trip is an extension of our Girls in Science afterschool program and brings programming from the classroom to the outdoors! Available to ’24-’25 participating Girls in Science students, this two-night hut trip offers an opportunity for afterschool participants to bond with girls from different schools across Eagle County who share a passion for science! This summer camp is taught by Girls in Science instructors who are also Wilderness First Responders.
Girls in Science families will receive instructions via email to access registration prior to open registration.
2025 Girls in Science Hut Trip – Naturalist Expeditions: Learn all about what it takes to be a naturalist! Spend time in nature, learn about naturalists who have paved the way for women in science, and study plants and animals through close observations, drawings, and writing. Plus, make new memories and friendships with fellow Girls in Science students from schools throughout the Eagle Valley.
