Walking Mountains’ 5th-6th Summer Science Camps take a deeper dive into various scientific topics while integrating learning into an overnight hut trip, which take place at one of the historic 10th Mountain Division Huts. Campers will make new friends, gain valuable outdoor skills, and develop a greater appreciation for the natural world. All Summer Science Camps are age-appropriate and taught by qualified natural science educators who make learning safe and fun.

Avon: July 1 – 3 (Shrine – Walter’s Hut) $375
Do wildfires spark your interest? Have you always wanted to learn how to build a campfire? Join us as we explore the causes and effects of wildfires, investigate the ecosystems they impact, and learn what it takes to be a wildland firefighter.
Avon: July 8 – July 10 (Uncle Bud’s Hut) $375
Awaken your creative mind by stepping into a space where art and science collide! Bond with other campers while playing games, cooking meals together, and staying overnight in a 10th Mountain Division Hut. Have fun conducting experiments and making art while learning how art and science can be used together to understand our natural world!
Avon: July 22 – July 24 (Uncle Bud’s Hut) $375
Rocky Mountain Prospectors will dig into Colorado’s mining past, unearth how we get important materials from the ground, and chat about how it affects our planet. We’ll do cool activities, play games that rock, and even design the future of mining! Plus, you’ll make new friends and have a blast outdoors. Get ready for three days and two nights of fun, learning, and adventures in nature!
