Beavers are among nature’s most industrious creatures. Join us for educational activities and an approximately two-mile walk to a beaver pond to observe an active lodge.
- Reservations required. Please confirm that you have selected the correct date and time.
- Family-friendly and suitable for most physical abilities.
- This program meets and ends at the public parking lot off of Big Horn Dr. in Vail. Click link HERE for Google Maps driving directions.
- Please come prepared to spend an hour and a half outside in a variable environment. Sturdy shoes and a jacket or extra layer are recommended. This program runs rain or shine.
- Please call the Vail Nature Center at (970) 479-2291 if your plans change so that we may accommodate other visitors. It is free to reschedule for another time. There is a $5.00 cancellation fee. To earn a partial refund, please contact us by 4:00pm the day of your scheduled program.
The Evening Beaver Pond Tour is about 2 miles of walking over the course of 1.5 hours and includes periods of standing at several nature stops. The paved path transitions to dirt single track with little elevation gain. This is an out-and-back walk. Porta-lets are available at the public parking lot off of Bighorn Drive at check-in.
