Gabi Watkins

Lead Naturalist

Gabi (she/her) is originally from California and moved to Pennsylvania for college, where she fell in love with the outdoors after going backpacking for the first time. Since then, she has dedicated herself to exploring and protecting the natural world, participating in work exchanges at farms across the West Coast, guiding glacier hikes in Alaska, and leading whitewater rafting trips in Colorado.

After completing her B.A. in Environmental Studies in 2023, Gabi spent a year as a Naturalist at Walking Mountains. She brought her love for environmental education and science to Conservation Leadership over the summer of 2024 and is excited to transition back into Community Programs as Lead Naturalist. She is passionate about promoting environmental stewardship at the community level and making outdoor spaces accessible for everyone. In her free time, Gabi enjoys all things outdoors—hiking, rafting, camping and skiing. She also loves reading, gardening, crafting, Stardew Valley and having fun with her friends and family.
