Ivett López Garcia
Ivett was born in Oaxaca City, Mexico. Since she was a child she liked plants and animals and enjoyed time in nature. Her favorite place in the world is Capulalpam de Mendez, a place surrounded by forest, rivers, fresh air and tranquility. She studied Environmental Sciences at National Autonomous University of Mexico. Later, she received a master’s degree in Sustainability Sciences at the same university. Her favorite subjects were: conservation biology, ecology and environmental education. She has studied Mexican native bees and the importance of pollination in food security. Ivett is excited for the internship at Walking Mountains because she will be able to learn more about how to connect with people about the importance natural resources in the context of the current environmental crisis. She is excited to learn about the Rocky Mountain landscape. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, walking and biking.
